Alamo College issued the following announcement on Oct. 25
Four out of five Alamo Colleges District campuses have been honored with a Veteran Education Excellence Recognition Award from the Texas Veterans Commission’s (TVC) Veterans Education Program.
Among the awardees were Palo Alto College (Gold Award), San Antonio College (Gold Award), Northeast Lakeview College (Silver Award), and St. Phillip’s College (Bronze Award).
The awards recognize universities and colleges that provide excellence in education and related services that significantly contribute to the academic success of student veterans and military-connected students.
The colleges were among 14 institutions of higher learning from around Texas to be honored with the Veteran Education Excellence Recognition Award in its inaugural year.
The VA teams at all four colleges help veterans fully understand their VA educational benefits as well as resources available to them while enrolled, such as:
- Computer lab and resources
- Food, recreational activities, lending library
- Priority/early registration, fee waivers
- Enrollment-to-graduation advisement
- VA work study
